More than a stage for rising designers, it’s a strategic frontier where global brands collide with Chinese culture. From the spotlight of Milan Fashion Week to the applause of Paris runways, Chinese design captivates with “national chic” flair—embroidery, brocade, and dragon motifs sparking consumer passion. Cultural identity breeds product allure, and product allure builds brand legacy. With China poised to dominate global consumption by 2027, brand directors, are you ready to join this intellectual feast and co-create the next fashion legend with Chinese designers?
We Never Chase Instant Success or Resonance—Great Works Demand Time to Shine
The annual Dalang Cup launches with grandeur, heralding the birth of new design stars and a new chapter for brand incubation. This competition opens doors for fashion brands eyeing China’s market, whether you’re a global giant seeking cultural resonance or an independent designer hungry for a breakthrough. In recent years, Chinese designs have dazzled at Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks, with Song brocade suits and cloud-motif accessories earning global acclaim. Media frenzy and consumer devotion stem from cultural identity—when design touches the soul, sales become a brand’s amplifier. Brand directors, why not seize this moment to stake your claim in China’s creative heartland?
“Reviving #East,” Dalang Cup’s Cultural and Digital Revolution
Jointly organized by the China National Garment Association and Shenzhen’s Longhua District Government, the 14th Dalang Cup thrives in Dalang Fashion Town, evolving alongside its transformation. With a “digital + fashion” identity, the town has birthed digital pioneers like Marisfrolg and Winner, revolutionizing research, production, and sales. Empowered by the Dalang Innovation Center and government funding, milestones like the Longhua-Huawei Fashion Digital Transformation Summit and Shenzhen’s first Fashion Digital Transformation Center have carved a path for high-quality growth. On the global stage, Dalang hosts the Shenzhen-Milan Dual-City Fashion Week, venturing into Italy, Spain, and Portugal to weave Eastern aesthetics into the global fashion tapestry, embodying “diverse brilliance, shared beauty” and launching a new “Silk Road of Fashion.”
A Stellar Jury with an East-West Vision
The Dalang Cup jury is a fashion powerhouse, featuring Golden Summit Award winners Wu Haiyan, Liu Yong, and Mao Baobao; Winner Group’s PR Director Xu Zhidong; LALABOBO co-founder Yu Qianzi; and Three-Inch Shengjing founder Zhang Yan. International expertise comes from ESMOD Guangzhou Dean Zora Gerault, Marangoni instructor Zakharova Irina, and CNMI China Representative Chen Zhuo. Their East-West lens selects works of cultural depth and global allure, from Shu-embroidered gowns to smart-fabric jackets, showcasing Chinese design’s boundless potential.

Insights from the 2025 Showcase
Details Define Success: A Holistic Fashion Philosophy
Great design isn’t just a dress—it’s a symphony of accessories, shoes, model poise, lighting, and music. Yet, many designers overlook these details, focusing solely on garments and missing the full experience. Dalang Cup designers master detail-driven success, crafting runways with cloud-patterned stages and AR try-ons that captivate audiences. For foreign designers, this is a golden opportunity: China’s demand for multifaceted designs transforms sales into a brand amplifier, lighting up the global fashion stage.
Cultural Fusion: National Chic Strikes a Chord
Designers blend Chinese embroidery with streetwear cuts, crafting “national chic” pieces like brocade trenches and dragon-motif hoodies that ignite cultural pride and drive sales. This East-West fusion resonates with Chinese consumers’ love for quality and storytelling. Share a Song brocade suit’s cultural narrative on Xiaohongshu or a cloud-motif accessory’s inspiration on Douyin, and your brand will win Gen Z’s heart.
Traditional Craftsmanship: Wearability Meets Aesthetics
Designers fuse Shu embroidery with functional fabrics, creating versatile pieces like embroidered blazers and smart-fabric dresses for work or parties. This philosophy aligns with Chinese consumers’ demands, with sales proving market appeal. Showcase real-world styling on Xiaohongshu, from office to streets, to spark consumer passion.
Localized Collaboration: The Soul of Design
Partnering with intangible heritage artisans, designers craft limited editions with Jing embroidery or cloisonné, earning trust via Douyin storytelling. The town’s Innovation Center connects designers with firms like Winner Group, merging craft with market needs. Collaborate with Chinese artisans on a Suzhou silk gown, and sales will amplify your authenticity.
Cultural Symbols: Modern Interpretations Ignite Identity
Designers modernize dragon and cloud motifs, like minimalist phoenix necklaces or cloud-printed tees, fueling cultural pride and sales. This taps China’s “national chic” craze. Share a cloud motif’s “from ancient art to streets” story on Xiaohongshu to captivate young consumers.
Immersive Experience: Unforgettable Brand Stories
Immersive runways weave Chinese symbols with lighting and music, creating heart-stirring moments like cloud-patterned stages and AR interactions, resonating with consumers’ desire for connection. Sales prove their impact. Host a show by West Lake with lantern accents to move audiences deeply.
We See Cultural Resonance, But Not Yet Industry Passion
Fashion’s brilliance lies not in fleeting cultural trends but in enduring industry passion. Dalang Cup witnesses designers’ dedication from concept to market, where time crowns the victors. Brand directors, are you ready to pour passion into China, co-creating timeless classics with us? Let your brand bloom in this creative heartland!
